Brooklyn Park Firefighters, IAFF Local #5031 Annual Charity Golf Tournament
Posted On: Jun 06, 2018
OnJuly 16th, 2018 The Brooklyn Park Firefighters Local #5031 will be hosting our secondannual charity golf tournament to benefit Firefighters for Healing (FFFH). Firefighters for Healing is a nonprofit foundation founded by firemen who have tragically experienced first-hand what burn survivors endure. On July, 3rd 2010, Minneapolis firefighter Jake Laferriere suffered 3rd degree burns in an explosion while battling a house fire. It was at the hospital while being treated for his burns that Jake met young children who were undergoing the same painful treatment for their injuries. Jake refers to this event as a “blessing” that truly changed his life forever. Jake founded FFFH with the mission of supporting children and burn survivors in ways insurance companies and caretakers are unable to. With donor and community help, the foundation is able to replace some essential living items when all have been lost in a fire, contribute financial assistance for corrective surgeries, support summer camp attendance for burn injured youth, donate to local hospital burn units, and provide other resources and information as needed. The funds from your sponsorship will allow FFFH to sustain their core mission. The Brooklyn Park Firefighters Local #5031 are asking for your support in this important endeavor. There are limited resources available for the families involved in these tragedies, and support is needed to ensure these families meet their medical and financial obligations in the future.
Thank you for your consideration and partnership in this cause.
